What happens if in our state or it is our policy to not close a claim? Is a Medicare Set-Aside applicable? There is no settlement, so would it even make sense to do an MSA?
Many states do keep claims open for the life of a claimant. In those instances, it still would be advantageous to get some sort of assessment on the amount that would likely be paid out over the duration of the claim until it is all paid out and closed. So it is beneficial to consider having an Medicare Set-Aside Allocation Report performed so that you have an auditing point, as well as you can predict overall costs for the life of the claim. You also can better budget annual costs.
